Cluster Reflection Meeting

Please join us for Reflections on Community Buildings

As more people become vaccinated and the threat of the Covid-19 pandemic begins to diminish, our hearts look forward to a time when we can all meet in person again. As we move closer to that time, we would like to suggest that friends gather in small groups in person to attend the Reflection Meeting on Zoom.

Who's in Your Pod?

Think of friends and family with whom you naturally see
on a consistent basis and meet up with them in person
to join the Reflection Meeting online.

There will be a breakout room for children and junior youth. Please let us know how many of these precious gems plan to attend, so that we can plan accordingly.

Please note: All information in the attached flyer is also in the body of this message.

For further information or questions, please email greatertucsonATC@gmail.com or call Shawn at 520-269-8410.

Race Unity Night

Isabel Wilkerson (born 1961) is an American journalist and the author of The Warmth of Other Suns: The Epic Story of America's Great Migration and Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents. She was the first woman of African-American heritage to win the Pulitzer Prize in journalism.

Wilkerson was the editor-in-chief of the Howard University college newspaper, interned at the Los Angeles Times and Washington Post, and became the Chicago Bureau Chief of The New York Times. She also taught at Emory, Princeton, Northwestern, and Boston University. (Wikipedia)

Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents is a nonfiction book by the American journalist Isabel Wilkerson that was initially published in August 2020 by Random House. The book describes racism in the United States as an aspect of a caste system – a society-wide system of social stratification characterized by notions such as hierarchy, inclusion and exclusion, and purity. Wilkerson does so by comparing aspects of the experience of American people of color to the caste systems of India and Nazi Germany, and she explores the impact of caste on societies shaped by them, and their people.

Devotional Gathering - Marana, Az.

Devotional meetings spring up naturally in a community where a conversation about the spiritual dimension of human existence is growing. In diverse settings, Bahá’ís and their friends and families unite with one another in prayer. There are no rituals; no one individual has any special role. Meetings consist largely of reading prayers and passages from the Bahá’í sacred texts in an informal yet respectful atmosphere. A spirit of communal worship is generated by these simple gatherings, and this spirit begins to permeate the community’s collective endeavours.

REGISTER HERE FOR THESE TWO NIGHTS

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. The Bahá’í Faith is one of specificity and particularity on the issue of race. Not only do we believe that the Revelator brought Divine Teachings, but much like a skilled physician, He has diagnosed the malady and issued a prescription for healing. He has refined the vocabulary necessary to revolutionize the discourse. We are also blessed to have the work of racial justice personified in the person of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá and this is essential in an environment where words are consistently twisted and perverted and used to undermine the Cause of Justice. The workshop will focus on the following areas: The Covenant and Racial Justice Lessons Learned from the Life of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá Seeing Through The Pupil of the Eye: Black People and the Bahá’í Faith RE-Assessing the American Dream: The Immigrant Experience of Race
